Work backward from the profit you want to keep
Print-on-demand can look simple because you are not holding inventory. The pricing math is less forgiving. Production, shipping, Etsy fees, and optional Offsite Ads all take their share before you keep a dollar.
Enter the profit you want and the costs attached to one order. The calculator will estimate the Etsy item price needed to support them.
Set your Etsy POD listing price
Use the costs for one item and one order. Shipping charged to the buyer is revenue; POD shipping cost is what your fulfillment provider charges you.
Please enter valid amounts of $0 or more in every field.

Now compare the price with the market
Do not trim the target profit just to make an uncomfortable price look nicer. First test supplier cost, shipping, and the offer itself.A required price is a decision signal, not a verdict
The calculator can tell you what the math requires. It cannot tell you whether buyers in your niche will support that price.
If the price fits the market
Your cost structure may support the target profit. Validate the exact product, mockup, quality, delivery promise, and full per-order costs before listing.
If the price feels high
Compare suppliers and shipping setups before cutting your profit. POD base cost and shipping usually offer more useful leverage than wishful thinking.
If the market will not support it
The current product structure may be too expensive. Change the supplier, product, bundle, shipping setup, positioning, or platform before forcing the listing.
Your supplier cost changes the price you need
Printful is often simpler to start with. Printify can offer lower-cost options across suppliers. Compare the actual product, shipping, quality, and service level—not merely the cheapest base price.

How do I price an Etsy POD product?
Start with the profit you want to keep, then include the POD base cost, POD shipping cost, shipping charged to the buyer, Etsy listing fee, transaction fee, payment processing, and any applicable Offsite Ads fee. This calculator works backward to estimate the necessary item price.
Do Etsy fees apply to shipping on POD orders?
Yes. The transaction fee, payment-processing percentage, and applicable Offsite Ads percentage are calculated using the order total, including shipping charged to the buyer.
Why do Offsite Ads increase the required price so much?
They add 12% or 15% of the order total on top of Etsy’s other fees. POD products already carry production and shipping costs, so the additional percentage can make the required price jump noticeably.
Does this calculator include Etsy’s Offsite Ads fee cap?
Yes. The selected Offsite Ads fee is capped at $100 for a single order. For ordinary POD prices the percentage usually remains below that cap, but the calculator handles higher-value orders correctly.
Should I use a POD profit calculator or pricing calculator first?
If you already have a price, use the profit calculator to see what you actually keep. If you know the profit you want but not the price, use this pricing calculator to work backward.
What if the price I need feels too high?
Test the supplier cost, shipping setup, target profit, product positioning, bundle, and platform fit. The result is an early warning that the current combination may not work—not an instruction to list at a price buyers will reject.
Before you list
A profitable result is a starting point. Now pressure-test the launch.
This calculator estimates one version of an Etsy sale. The Etsy Launch Check tests a specific product idea against the pricing and cost changes that tend to show up after the optimistic spreadsheet has already declared victory.
See whether the product still has profit room after costs, shipping, discounts, Etsy Ads, and Offsite Ads.
